IMF Tune - Bringing Back the Exchange Connection Filter
IMF Tune v8, Exchange 2019 & Platform RequirementsWork on IMF Tune v8 is progressing well and we would like to share more details on the platform requirements this version will be targeting.
Exchange version 2007 to 2019IMF Tune v8 will be supporting all Exchange versions from 2007 to 2019. Many haven't even started looking at Exchange 2019, but we know how important this is to you. When the time comes for you to upgrade to Exchange 2019, IMF Tune will be there rendering your migration smoother and with less unknowns. We want to keep supporting new Exchange versions for as long as Microsoft keeps including the Anti-Spam Content Filter Agent. Exchange 2019 includes the Content Filter and so we are happy to extend our support. On a less positive note we are dropping Exchange 2003 support. Today we hardly have any users running IMF Tune for Exchange 2003 and thus believe this will be of little impact to you. Supporting Exchange 2003 has been a badge of honour for us, but alas we had to let this go to help us better focus on the latest platforms and Exchange versions.
Windows Platform RequirementsOur current IMF Tune v8 internal build has a minimum platform requirement of Windows Server 2008 R2. This means we are moving our minimum platform requirement from Windows 2003 to 2008 R2.
SQL Server RequirementsWith the upcoming IMF Tune support for TLS1.2 we are advancing our minimum MS SQL Server requirement to MS SQL 2008. Thus we are advancing the minimum supported version from MS SQL 2005 to 2008. This requirement is only relevant to the optional IMF Tune quarantine components. The IMF Tune scanning engine does not require MS SQL Server.
