Differences in Quoted Prices between Coin Tracker and Crypto Exchanges

The WinDeveloper Coin Tracker retrieves pricing information from a number of crypto exchanges. Sometimes it is possible to observe differences in the prices shown at the Coin Tracker and the prices on buying/selling crypto assets.

The exact reason for the price variations may differ for each of the exchanges. Here are some of the factors that may contribute to such variations:

  1. The Coin Tracker price might not include charges applied by the crypto exchange on trading.

  2. The Coin Tracker makes use of 3rd party exchange rate services unrelated to the crypto exchanges themselves. When dealing with foreign exchange rates, crypto exchanges might be applying different rates other than the ones applied by the Coin Tracker.

  3. The price for the coin might be very volatile. By the time you switch between the Coin Tracker and the crypto exchange this might have changed.
