IMF Tune v7.1 Released

IMF Tune v7.1 Release is now available for download!

In this release we are improving DNS List processing performance. We are now able to squeeze more concurrent DNS IP/URI List queries, allowing us to complete email processing more quickly.

Moreover we are refining the logic for applying DNS Lists. From the outset IMF Tune v7 was designed not to submit queries when the final SCL rating was already known. For example if an email matches the sender auto-whitelist, IMF Tune knows that the email is going to be whitelisted even if a DNS Block List is matched. Thus IMF Tune skips DNS processing altogether.

This optimization reduces the number of DNS queries and is beneficial especially when using free DNS List services. Some list providers only allow users to use their service for free as long as the daily number of queries does not exceeded a certain limit. Thus this optimization help users avoid such problems.

IMF Tune v7.1 is also implementing similar DNS List querying logic for avoiding unnecessary queries. However we relaxed a bit the rules making it simpler to follow when DNS Lists are applied and when not. We will be documenting this logic in more detail in a separate article in the coming days. Just follow us on Facebook or Twitter for the latest articles.
