IMF Tune - Bringing Back the Exchange Connection Filter
IMF Tune v6.1 - Embraces the Latest Microsoft ReleasesExchange 2013, Windows Server 2012, IIS8, Internet Explorer 10
IMF Tune version 6.1 just reached final release and is now available for download. IMF Tune is future ready, supporting the latest Microsoft technologies. Many Organizations are not in the process of deploying Exchange 2013 yet. Nevertheless we wasted no time in getting our anti-spam solution ready for your next move. In the last few months Microsoft refreshed its platforms with many new releases. This required a lot of testing from our side and the development of updates to make up for a number of incompatibilities. We are proud to have IMF Tune running with Exchange 2013 on both Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012. In all IMF Tune now supports a decade of Exchange releases including all versions from Exchange 2003 to 2013. Likewise the IMF Tune Web Moderator/Reporting component may now be installed on Internet Information Server 8 and also fully supports Internet Explorer 10.
IMF Tune and Exchange 2013As in earlier versions Exchange 2013 includes the Content Filter anti-spam agent. This may be installed using the Exchange Shell script Trying to run Exchange 2013 with earlier IMF Tune versions fails with "Content Filter Agent not found" error. This and other compatibility problems are fixed in version 6.1. IMF Tune will now successfully install and run with Exchange 2013 on both Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012.
IMF Tune Web Component and IIS 8Attempting to install earlier releases of the IMF Tune Moderator/Reporting ASP.NET application on IIS 8 returns "Internet Information Server (IIS) version not supported". IIS8 is the Internet Information Server version included on Windows 2012 (and Windows 8). IMF Tune Moderator/Reporting v6.1 fixes this and other incompatibilities, allowing us to run the web component on IIS 8. Thus we may now install this component on any server from Windows 2003 to 2012.
IMF Tune Web Component and Internet Explorer 10Many ASP.NET applications are experiencing problems with Internet Explorer 10 because of breaking changes introduced in this browser version. IE10 is the browser shipped with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. Earlier versions of the IMF Tune Web component exhibit problems when IE10 is NOT in Compatibility View mode. Clicking on some of the buttons cause the application to fail, taking us back to the login screen. For example this can be observed when clicking the Delete or Resubmit buttons at the Moderator. This problem is now solved in version 6.1. IE10 may be used to access this component without problems even if not in Compatibility View mode.
UpgradingThe IMF Tune v6.1 server can be installed directly on top of IMF Tune v4/v5/v6 installations. This allows the installation to convert all configuration settings automatically. Earlier IMF Tune versions can be upgraded by uninstalling the older release and installing version 6.1 to the same disk location. For a detailed discussion of all possible upgrading/migration scenarios please refer to Upgrading/Migrating to IMF Tune v6.x.
LicensingAll new IMF Tune licenses include 1 year Maintenance. No new license is required for IMF Tune v6.1 if currently running IMF Tune v6.0 and one of these conditions is satisfied
